Hi! I'm Angelica
I am a Spanish teacher based in Raleigh, North Carolina, an award-winning educator (recognized by Poets & Quants), and a lead scholar at Espíritu Santo University – UEES (Ecuador). I also serve as a visiting scholar at Rosario University (Colombia) and the Autonomous University of Madrid – UAM (Spain). I hold a Ph.D. in Applied Economics (2014) from Rey Juan Carlos University (Spain), where I graduated with the highest distinction (cum laude) and received the Extraordinary Doctorate Award.
I have worked in both for-profit and non-profit organizations across Ecuador, Japan, and Spain. My research has been published in internationally recognized journals, including the Journal of Business Research, Management Decision, Scientometrics, and the Journal of Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies, among others.
I have presented my work at leading international conferences such as the Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, European Academy of Management, and Iberoamerican Academy of Management.
I am a founding member of two NGOs: FAMUFAR, focused on empowering women, and EQLab, which promotes high-quality research aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Additionally, I have been involved in real estate and foreign trade ventures.
In 2022, I was honored as one of Poets & Quants’ Best 40 Under 40, a prestigious award recognizing outstanding MBA educators and researchers under 40 worldwide. I am proud to be the first professor from a Latin American university to receive this distinction.
